How To Make A Booking

Searching for your house

  1. Search by Date ­ click on the calendar icon   date picker   on our Home Page , then insert your preferred dates. You can also sort your list by Destination and/or by Price.

    To check for more details of any house in your list, simply click on the house photo.

    Use the "back" arrow at the top of your page to return to the list and check other properties.

  2. Search Availability for a Particular Property ­ On any property page you can check availability for that property by clicking on the Check Availability & Book Now button. A calendar showing availability with navigational tools will allow you to scroll forward to future months, and calculate tariffs.

    This feature also provides for making a Booking Request for particular dates.

On-line booking requests

  1. Online Booking Requests can be made from each property page ­ click on the Check Availability & Book Now button. Choose available dates (ensure there is one night between existing bookings and your (in) and (out) dates).

  2. Minimum night stays apply for each season. If you choose shorter stays than those that apply, the calculated tariff will be for the min night stay. Eg if you choose 3 nights in a Mid Season where the min night stay is 4 nights, the 4 night tariff will apply. Additional Charges: Service charge per booking - $66. Credit card transactions (Visa and MasterCard) incur a charge of 1.2%. Bank transfers and cheques are accepted

  3. Once your Booking Request has been received by our office, it will be checked and made Pending, and an email sent confirming receipt . This email directs to a Booking Form, which must be completed with address and payment details and faxed/scanned to our office within 3 working days.

  4. A Deposit of 30% is required to confirm if more than 3 weeks in advance of your booking.

    Full Payment + Bond is required if within 3 weeks of your booking.

  5. A booking is not confirmed until a deposit has been receipted and the completed booking form received.

Payments Methods:

  1. Visa or Mastercard - 1.2% surcharge for all credit card transactions

  2. Electronic Bank Transfer

  3. Cheque

Additional Charges :

  1. Service Charge per Booking $66
  2. Credit card transactions (Visa and Master Card) incur a charge of 1.2%. Bank transfers, and cheques are accepted.

Bonds

  • A $1000 bond is payable on each booking. The bond is due with the final and full payment of the tariff 3 weeks prior to your stay.
  • On departure, the house is checked and professionally cleaned. Provided there is no extra cleaning, no extra rubbish removal and no damage reported at the property, the bond will be refunded within 3 working days to the account/credit card from which it was taken.

Cancellations

Once your booking has been confirmed and receipted by PPBA your deposit is non refundable.

If you need to cancel your booking you must advise us in writing. If this is done more than 6 weeks prior to the booking, you will be released from the full liability of hire, however the deposit is non refundable.

If you provide written notice less than 6 weeks in advance of the booking, you are liable for the full tariff.

In the case of every cancellation, Private Properties will endeavor to "re-let" the property for the dates you have booked. If we are successful, then we will refund your deposit less a cancellation fee of $200.

Please Note ­ it is our preference that your property/booking is re-let, however there is no guarantee that this is possible. It is very difficult to "re-let" with short notice and in Off Peak seasons.

We highly recommend that cancellation insurance is taken out to safeguard your investment in your holiday.

Changes to holiday booking

Where possible, PPBA will accept certain changes to a confirmed booking. Changes from one house to another will only be possible in exceptional circumstances. Administration Fees may be charged for changes.

Arrival and departure

Arrival Time is 3pm

Departure Time is 10.30am

In Off Peak times we encourage guests to inquire about early check-in and late checkout. Caretakers will help if at all possible. At all other times we request that departure is no later than 10.30am.

Please note ­ due to the limited time available to cleaning staff, we ask that on guest departure the property is left in a neat and tidy condition. In the event of a house requiring extra cleaning, extra rubbish removal, or evidence of damage, the guest bond will be charged.

Caretakers

All our properties have local caretakers who are very familiar with their properties. If guests experience any problems, caretakers are there to assist.

Meet and Greet ­ caretakers will endeavor to meet all guests on arrival at the property to hand over keys and welcome guests. To assist with this, we ask that guests phone caretakers a few days prior to the commencement of their booking.

Final arrival arrangements and caretaker details are emailed to guests on full payment of the tariff and bond.

Linen

Pillows, blankets, doonas , doona covers, bath towels, bath mats, hand towels and tea towels are provided.

Each property is fully made up with bed linen and bath linen.

Beach towels are not provided but in many cases may be hired from local caretakers.

Mid stay cleans

If a booking is more than 9 days in duration, there will be a "mid stay" clean with fresh linen supplied.

If guests wish to organize further cleaning, please contact our office well in advance of the booking and we will contact the caretakers. The cost of extra cleaning will be billed to the guest.

There is no maid service included in the booking tariff.

Weddings, functions and parties.

In accordance with the local Shire Holiday Home Policies, our homes are let for accommodation purposes only. We regret that parties and functions are not permitted.

Conduct or noise that may cause neighbours' distress or discomfort, or cause concern for the condition of the property, may result in the guests being asked to vacate the property immediately. In such a case, the guests will forfeit remaining tariff and the full bond tendered.

Maximum number of guests

The maximum number of guests indicated on our web site reflects the facilities at the house. More guests may result in problems that will affect guest comfort and potentially the condition of the property and supplies of water , the septic tank service etc.

We therefore regret that under no circumstances can the number of people staying at the house exceed the maximum number indicated on the website.

Young adults and school leavers

We regret we are unable to offer accommodation during "Leavers" week.

The primary contact for any booking with Private Properties must be over 21 years of age.

Pets

We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.
